This Month's Meeting

Mike Bray will give a Tech Talk about making divided light (glass) doors on the tablesaw. The Tool Talk will be by Fred Reicher on a Power Controller.

Our featured speaker will be Wendy Maruyama. Wendy Maruyama is Head of the Furniture Design/Woodworking program and has taught at SDSU since 1989. Prior to that she has headed programs at California College of Arts and Crafts and at the Appalachian Center for Crafts. She received her BA from San Diego State and MFA from Rochester Institute of Technology. She has been the recipient of a Fulbright Grant to England, foreign travel grants to France and Japan, and four NEA Craftsmen's Fellowships. She also serves on several non-profit boards, including the Furniture Society and Haystack Mountain School of Crafts. She is a frequent workshop leader and lecturer and her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. It is documented in numerous publications and included in public collections, among them the Mint Museum of Craft and Design, American Craft Museum, Oakland Museum, Mingei International Museum, Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the Arizona State University Museum in Tempe. HWY 101 From the South - Take the Vermont St. exit (previous exit is Cesar Chavez) and turn LEFT. Travel 2 blocks to 16th St. and turn RIGHT. Travel 5 blocks to Wisconsin St. (Carolina St. is the previous street) and turn LEFT. CCA is on the RIGHT.

HWY 280 From the South
- Take the Mariposa exit and turn LEFT. Travel 6 blocks on Mariposa St and turn RIGHT on Arkansas (Connecticut is the previous street). Travel 2 blocks on Arkansas St and take a HALF LEFT. Travel 1 ½ blocks to the CCA which will be on the right.

FROM the BAY BRIDGE - Stay in the right lanes as you approach the end of the bridge (bridge construction). Take the 8th Street off ramp (STAY IN THE LEFT LANE ON THE LONG OFF RAMP). Turn LEFT onto 8th Street. Travel 2 ½ blocks and turn a HALF LEFT onto Division Street. Travel 2 blocks to De Haro Street and turn RIGHT. Travel 2 blocks to 15th Street and turn LEFT. Travel 1 block and turn a HALF RIGHT. CCA is a half block on the left.
