This Month's Meeting

December 16th (3rd Thursday)

6:30 pm

This will be a DESSERT party and meeting. So that we don't run out, please bring your favorite dessert and enough for 6 to 8 people. Dessert could be cookies, cupcakes, candy, brownies or your own special creation.

Our election of officers will occur at our December 16th meeting. We will also have Bill Henzel who will show slides of our members' Rebuilding Together projects, our Toy Workshop work and Bill's house building in Eastern Europe. Our main presenter will be Ashley Eriksmoen, a furniture builder and sculptress. She graduated from the Fine Woodworking Program at the College of the Redwoods in 1998 and subsequently earned her M.F.A. in Furniture Design at Rhode Island School of Design. Based in Oakland, California, Ashley's teaching experience includes workshops at the College of the Redwoods and the California College of Art and Craft. She exhibits nationally. Some of her designs can be seen on the web at http://galleryoffunctionalart.com/eriksmoen.shtml

Meeting Location

Unitarian-Universalist Church
Fireside Room
505 E. Charleston Rd.
Palo Alto

FROM HWY 101-Take the San Antonio West exit. At the first light, turn right onto East Charleston. Go half-block beyond the light at Middlefield. The church is on the right, with lots of parking behind.

FROM HWY 280 GOING SOUTH-Take the Arastradero exit which becomes West Charleston. East Charleston after Alma. Look for the church on the left just before you reach Middlefield.

FROM HWY 280 GOING NORTH-Take the Magdalena East exit and travel to G5 Foothill Expressway and turn left. Travel to Arastradero Rd and turn right. Arastradero becomes W. Charleston then E. Charleston after Alma. The church will be on the left just before Middlefield Road.

NOTE
For safety reasons, it is important to know that this campus has a distinct entrance and exit. There have been an increasing number of near accidents as people try to make a quick exit using the entrance driveway while someone is entering the driveway. The entrance driveway is on the west side of the property (farthest from Middlefield). The exit driveway is on the east side of the property with a traffic light by Nelson St.. Please be mindful of your speed. There have been harrowing moments watching children run towards the parking lot while someone is driving in quickly.
