Decorative Veneering and Marquetry

Presented by Paul Schurch - renowned furniture builder and teacher

Here is your opportunity to learn from one of the leading experts in the veneering industry, well known for his fine marquetry furniture. This lecture and one day hands-on class will cover the basics of what you need to know about veneering, and getting great results using basic tools and techniques that professionals use every day. Adding veneer to a project can enhance the perceived value of cabinetry and fine furniture, if done properly. You will get a chance to cut, join and glue up a small decorative veneer panel that could be used in a jewelry box or cabinet door, and learn how to achieve great results while avoiding the common mistakes that can ruin a project. Also, Paul will demonstrate marquetry techniques and will be showing slides of different projects and processes that you can use on your future creations!
